Get your skis or snowboard treated with Phantom Glide and forget about waxing forever. Enjoy lasting glide, season after season, for the entire life of your gear.

Do you want your skis or snowboard to keep gliding without having to wax them over and over again? Phantom Glide is a permanent solution for consistently great glide performance. The Glide penetrates the base, ensuring your skis or snowboard keep gliding smoothly.

What is Phantom Glide?

Unlike wax, Phantom Glide is a permanent solution. You apply Phantom Glide once, after which you always enjoy good glide performance without re-waxing. Phantom Glide penetrates deeply into the base and, with the help of UV light, forms a permanent bond. Because the entire base is infused, the glide effect lasts for the full lifespan of your skis or snowboard.

Why treat your gear with Phantom Glide:

  • One-time application for the complete lifecycle of your skis or snowboard.
  • Consistent glide performance.
  • Suitable for all snow conditions.
  • No time wasted on re-waxing.
  • Skis or snowboards treated with Phantom Glide dry out less quickly. Phantom Glide bonds permanently into the base, meaning no chemicals end up in nature.

Phantom Glide your skis at Snowcountry

At Snowcountry we have machines for Phantom Gliding. When you buy skis or a snowboard from us, you can have them treated with Phantom Glide. This way your new skis or snowboard will always glide perfectly.

Waxing gear treated with Phantom Glide

With Phantom Glide you are guaranteed a good glide experience, even after days, weeks and even years in the snow. Only if you want the ultimate glide performance, it is worth waxing your skis or snowboard treated with Phantom Glide as well. Choose a performance wax designed for the temperature and snow conditions you’ll be riding in. This way, you start with the best possible glide, and when the wax wears off, Phantom Glide still ensures reliable performance.

Apply Phantom Glide yourself

In our webshop you will also find an ‘At Home Kit’. With this kit you can easily apply Phantom Glide yourself on your skis or snowboard. For the permanent bonding, you use the sun as natural UV light. If you apply Phantom Glide at home, it is important that the weather is dry and sunny (minimum 7 °C and UV 4).

The At Home Phantom Glide treatment is just as effective as in the machine. However, it is important that the base is thoroughly cleaned before applying Phantom Glide.

FAQ

Will I never have to wax again with Phantom Glide?

With Phantom Glide, the glide performance of your skis or snowboard remains the same throughout their entire lifecycle. To prevent drying out, it is recommended to apply a summer storage wax to your skis or snowboard. In addition, for the ultimate glide performance you can still wax over Phantom Glide with a performance wax for specific snow conditions.

Do I still need to sharpen my skis or snowboard?

Yes, Phantom Glide only covers glide performance. It remains important to keep your edges sharp by sharpening them regularly.

Does Phantom Glide work in combination with skins?

Yes, Phantom is ideal for touring skis and splitboards. Since no wax residues are released, the glue on your skins stays clean and reliable. You will always glide smoothly, even in changing snow conditions and in summer.

Does it work on all types of bases?

Phantom Glide works permanently on all skis and snowboards with a sintered base. The exception is snowboards with an extruded base. Due to the material of an extruded base, the Glide penetrates less deeply, which may require multiple applications to cover the snowboard’s lifespan.

Does Phantom Glide change the color of your base?

No, Phantom Glide does not alter the appearance of your base.
