Step by step: How to adjust a Fritschi ski binding

Step 1: Adjust the length of the binding

We start by adjusting the length of the Fritschi binding to your ski boot. The heel piece of the binding should make contact with the boot to create the right pressure, ensuring that the binding releases only when necessary.

Place your ski boot in the binding. Do this by first placing the toe piece in the binding and then the heel piece. Use a screwdriver to make adjustments. The adjustment of the heel piece is correct when the ski boot and the binding touch each other. Note: the heel piece should not exert pressure on the ski boot, and the gap between the boot and the binding should not be more than 1 millimeter.

Remove the ski boot from the binding and place it back in. Then, check if the adjustment of the heel piece is correct.

Step 2: DIN settings

The next step is adjusting the DIN settings. The DIN is a number indicating how much force a boot needs to release from the binding. Determining your DIN settings depends on your skiing experience, weight, height, age, and sole length.

On the heel and toe piece of the Fritschi Tecton ski binding, you'll find a DIN indicator. Set both to match your personal DIN number. Adjust both indicators using a screwdriver. You'll find the screw to adjust the DIN on the heel piece at the back of the binding and on the toe piece on the inside of the binding.

Now, your Fritschi Tecton or Vipec ski binding is correctly adjusted, and you're ready for your ski touring adventure! One last piece of advice: check the adjustment of your bindings every ski season. Properly adjusted bindings are essential for safe and enjoyable skiing.
