Mounting ski bindings to skis is something you should usually have done at the store where you purchase your skis. Properly mounting ski bindings is a precise task and requires expertise.

Mounting ski bindings or adjusting ski bindings?

When we talk about mounting ski bindings, we mean attaching the bindings to the skis. This is different from adjusting ski bindings, which refers to adjusting the bindings to fit your ski boots. Read all about it in our Snowhow article Adjusting Ski Bindings - How to Do It?.

Does every ski binding fit every ski?

In ski mounting, we distinguish between flat skis and system skis, also known as rail skis. System skis come with a rail system onto which you slide the bindings. These skis only fit bindings that match the rail system, usually from the same manufacturer as the skis.

Flat skis do not have integrated mounting plates. For mounting bindings on flat skis, we use a jig or template for drilling the necessary holes. The type of jig used depends on the binding.

Let Snowcountry mount your ski bindings

If you order skis with bindings from Snowcountry, we will mount them for free*. However, we need your ski boot size in millimeters for this. Please provide this in the comments field during your order. You can find the boot size on the bottom side of your ski boot.

At Snowcountry, we have the necessary expertise and materials to mount ski bindings properly and safely. For all bindings in our lineup, we have the appropriate jigs. If you prefer not to have the skis mounted, you can indicate this in the comments section during the order process.

* Free mounting is only offered when you purchase skis with bindings from us. If you order skis with bindings from the US or Canada, we do not mount the bindings due to liability reasons.

Mounting flat skis

Step 1: Mounting position

All skis have a recommended mounting point indicated on the skis. This is the ideal position determined by the manufacturer based on balance, performance, and ski type. Before mounting, we verify this point. It is often printed on the topsheet and may shift slightly during the factory printing process.

If you want your skis mounted differently from the recommended position, please specify this in the comments section during the order process. For any questions about mounting, feel free to contact our customer service.

Step 2: Drilling jigs

To mount ski bindings on ski accurately, we use official drilling jigs from the binding manufacturer for all bindings in our lineup. This precise task requires care, including ensuring the holes are not drilled too deep. We use a depth stop to prevent this.

Step 3: Binding glue

After drilling, we fill the holes with special binding glue. This prevents moisture from entering the ski core through the drill holes and gives the screws extra grip.

Step 4: Securing the bindings

The bindings are screwed onto the skis. All screws are tightened and checked manually.

Step 5: Final fheck

We ensure everything is properly mounted and functioning correctly.

Your ski bindings are now mounted and ready to be shipped to you. Note that your skis are not immediately ready for use! Before skiing, the bindings must be correctly adjusted to your ski boots. This can be done at a nearby ski shop or by yourself. Learn all about adjusting your skis yourself in our Snowhow.
