Difference between BOA, speedlace and laces

Snowboard boots can have three types of closure systems:

• BOA: fast and precisely adjustable dial.
• Speedlace: tighten your boots with a drawcord.
• Laces: fasten your boots with a lace.

Which snowboard boot size

If you're going to buy snowboard boots online, it's important to know your Mondopoint size. Mondopoint is the length of your foot in millimetres. How to do it:

• Step 1: Place a piece of paper on the floor with the short edge against a wall.
• Step 2: Stand on the paper with your bare foot, heel lightly touching the wall.
• Step 3: Use a pencil to draw a straight line at your big toe. Keep the pencil upright. If possible, have someone else draw the line.
• Step 4: Use a ruler to measure the distance between the edge of the paper and the line. The result is your Mondopoint size.

Repeat these steps for both feet and use your largest foot. Are you exactly between two sizes? Then round up.

Example: If the measured distance is 266mm, your Mondopoint size is 27.

Softboots or hardboots

Softboots are the snowboard boots you most often see on the mountain. In our range you will find, besides softboots, hardboot snowboard shoes from Mountain Slope, Deeluxe and Key-Equipment. These hardboots are for advanced riders who can carve very well technically. The hardboots only fit in hardboot bindings.

We also offer splitboard boots. These are specially developed for more walking comfort and often feature a 'cuff' as extra protection against water from melting snow that stays on your boots when hiking uphill. You can also use splitboard boots as regular snowboard boots; the boot just has some extra features.
