Ski poles
What length ski poles?
If you're buying ski poles, it's important to get the right length. Use the following formula:
Body height in cm x 0.7 - 5 centimetres = Ski pole length in cm
The general recommendation is your height times 0.7. Additionally, we at Snowcountry recommend choosing ski poles that are 5 centimetres shorter for skiers who prefer an active skiing stance. Use the table below to see which ski pole length suits you.
Ski pole length table
| Body height | Ski pole length |
| 141 - 147 cm | 95 cm |
| 148 - 154 cm | 100 cm |
| 155 - 161 cm | 105 cm |
| 162 - 168 cm | 110 cm |

| 176 - 182 cm | 120 cm |
| 183 - 189 cm | 125 cm |
| 190 - 196 cm | 130 cm |
| 197 - 204 cm | 135 cm |
| > 205 cm | 140 cm |
Adjustable or fixed ski poles
For most skiers it's practical to choose fixed poles. Adjustable poles are aimed at ski tourers, where it's useful to change pole length for climbing and descending. Freeriders may also prefer adjustable poles so they can adapt the length to the conditions.
