Gloves or mittens

Gloves offer more freedom of movement because you can use your fingers separately. Mittens, on the other hand, are warmer because your fingers share the same space. If your fingers get cold easily, mittens are often the best solution. If you prefer dexterity to grab things, gloves are more suitable.

Gloves for touring

If you're ski touring or splitboarding, you'll find a large selection of touring gloves at Snowcountry. Regular ski or snowboard gloves are often far too warm for the uphill. Touring gloves are usually thinner, more flexible and more breathable. That way your hands stay warm and comfortably dry while touring.

Freeride gloves or mittens

Gloves or mittens for freeriding are often extra robust to provide good protection. Because of the powder snow it's useful if the cuffs fit snugly around your wrist and tuck under your sleeve, or are long enough to go over your sleeve. That way you prevent powder getting into your sleeves or gloves.

What are liner gloves?

Liners are separate inner gloves that you wear under an outer glove for extra warmth. When buying, always check whether the liner fits under your gloves. There are close-fitting liners that fit under most gloves, but there are also thick liners intended as linings for specific outer gloves. Unsure whether a liner fits under your glove? Well-fitting winter sports glove

If you're buying women's winter sports gloves it's important to choose the right size. If your gloves are too small this can lead to cold fingers. Gloves that are too big are not comfortable. Always check the size chart in the product description so you're sure the gloves will fit properly.
