Exped footprints protect the tent floor from abraison, dirt and humidity. Shaped like the tent floor, but 10 cm (4“) smaller all around to prevent rain from collecting between footprint and tent floor. The footprint also covers the vestibule floor space to protect the vestibule from dirt and humidity. The footprint reduces condensation rising from the ground, hereby improving the inner tent climate.

Combine footprint and rainfly to travel extra light (except Lyra II and III). A footprint doubles as a tarp against rain, wind and sun (that is, against excessive exposure to UV radiation).

Exped offers footprints in two weights, always matching the specific tent model it is named after:

  • Footprint HL 20 D Ripstop Nylon laminated, 1500 mm water column for the lightweight HL tents
  • Footprint 70 D Taffeta Nylon taped, 3000 mm water column
