Backpack, rucksack or travel bag

All these bags are intended for travel. Backpacks are bags equipped with shoulder straps and hip belts for optimal weight distribution. A backpack is suitable for long-distance hiking. For shorter distances and daily use a rucksack is more suitable. An important difference is that a rucksack usually does not have a hip belt. A travel bag, also called a duffel, is a spacious, usually rectangular bag with handles and sometimes a shoulder strap. A travel bag or duffel is perfect for carrying a lot of luggage in the car, train or boat. Some travel bags have wheels for convenience.

Mountaineering backpacks

A mountaineering backpack is specifically designed for alpine trips in the mountains. Think glacier travel, ice climbing, ski touring and splitboarding. The packs are lightweight, compact and functional. In addition, mountaineering backpacks often have extra features for storing ice axes, trekking poles, ropes and a climbing helmet.

Ski and snowboard backpacks

As the name suggests, these backpacks provide space for carrying skis or a snowboard and other gear such as a helmet and poles. Perfect for freeriders who hike up a mountain to reach that one powder run. In addition, the bags often feature a compartment for avalanche equipment: shovel and probe. The material of ski- and snowboard backpacks is water-repellent or waterproof and the zips can be opened and closed while wearing gloves.

Bags for your skis, snowboard or boots

Protect your skis or snowboard in a handy bag. Ideal for transport so your equipment doesn’t get damaged. In addition, the bags often have a shoulder strap or wheels, making them easy to carry. Besides ski- and snowboard bags there are also bags for ski or snowboard boots.
