The contact pads in the lightweight back system ensure permanent circulation of air, and make this backpack a pleasure to carry during demanding activities. Thanks to ergonomically shaped shoulder straps and a wide hip belt, even the heaviest loads will be optimally distributed. Anyone looking to save on weight can completely remove the lid compartment to increase their flexibility in the mountains.

Ortovox S backpacks have a shorter back system designed especially for women and men with shorter backs. The hip and shoulder straps have also been adapted to the female anatomy: the shoulder straps are thinner, shorter and have a pronounced S-shape. The hip fins are shorter and conical. The short back system may be used for a back length from 36 cm to 44 cm.
