After a variety of attachment types, the very first self-adhering ski skin was introduced to the market in 1968. It was developed by Hans Fischli, the father of the present managing director of Tödi Sport AG situated in Glarus, Switzerland. Fischli named the first adhesive ski skin colltex. It was a major success from the start for every ski tourer. At last a ski skin which is attached so snuggly to the ski bottom that it was impossible for snow to get in between. Since then, colltex stands for innovative adhesive ski skins.
