What is an avalanche airbag cartridge?
The airbag of a mechanical avalanche backpack is inflated by a cartridge, also called a cylinder. You replace or refill the cartridge after use.
Refillable or disposable cartridge
If you have used your avalanche airbag you must replace or refill the cartridge. So check which type of cartridge you have. Refillable cartridges can often only be refilled by the manufacturers or at specialised service points. If you need to replace a cartridge, you can find cartridges from top brands such as Mammut, Ortovox, Scott, Arva, ABS and Aerosize with us.
Checking the cartridge
If you have an avalanche airbag with a cartridge it is important to check the cartridge at least once per season. Does the cartridge still have sufficient pressure, is it not damaged and has the expiry date (if applicable) not yet passed.

How do I know which cartridge I need?
