Karakoram will participate this year in the hardboot segment and the Karakoram Guide HB is one of the lightest hardboot bindings on the market. They work with the same highly responsive 'active joining' connection as their softboot bindings. Here too, the lever ensures a super tight connection. The binding is a one size fits all and of course comes with both tour and ride interface. Of course you can omit the tour interface and replace it with a tech binding.
Fits bootsizes 255mm to 350mm
PERFORMANCE
The Karakoram Guide HB has a 7000AL chassis. This alloy is often used in the aerospace industry because of its light and high strength. You don't want cracks in your material when you come out of a couloir at full speed. The 'Active Joining' in combination with hardboots makes this one of the most responsive splitboard bindings on the market. All unnecessary materials have been milled away, making the binding extremely light.
COMFORT
This binding has a canted footbed. This ensures a more natural position when riding. Under the footbed are bushings that dampens vibrations from the board. Because it is a 'one-size-fits-all' binding, it can be completely adjusted to your bootsize. Both the heel cleat and the toe buckle are adjustable. In addition, you can adjust the toe buckle to the nose of your boot for an optimal fit.
USE
The Karakoram interface works by means of a lever at the heelcup that allows the binding to be released from the tour- and ride-interface. This is a quick and sturdy way to switch interfaces. The tour interface can of course be replaced with tech bindings, so you can carry your Guide HB in your backpack. This makes the entire set-up seriously light and extremely suitable for use in alpine terrain.
