How to choose your Reactiv photochromic lens?
The lens darkens on contact with UV rays and lightens when light intensity is reduced. So, if the light intensity changes, the lens adjusts without any action on your part. Julbo offers the widest range of photochromic lenses on the market, now called Reactiv photochromic.

VLT (Visible Light Transmission) is a measurement that specifies the percentage of light coming through the lens and reaching your eyes. A totally clear lens for dark conditions typically have around 60-80% VLT and a very dark colored lens with mirror for sunny conditions may have down to 25% VLT. Most allround lenses will be found between 25 to 60 %. In our range you will find alternatives for all kinds of conditions.

The main adavantages of photochromic lenses:

  • Just one pair of goggles with a single lens that you can wear whatever the weather
  • Constant protection against the sun's UVA, B and C rays.
  • Permanent viewing comfort despite changes in light intensity
  • The greatest reactivity for adapting to changes in light: Activation between 20 to 30 seconds

High mountain:   

  • Category 2 to 4
  • Polarized (accentuates perception of relief and contrast, enhances depth and eliminates reflected   light)
  • Brown lens: protection and contrast enhancement
  • Silver or blue flash

All around:

  • Category 2 to 3
  • Glare control filter: better reading of the terrain
  • Red tint: improved contrast
  • Orange flash 

Performance 1- 3:

  • Category 1 to 3
  • Choose between: Yellow base: increased light receptivity, or Red tint: accentuates relief
  • Either Gold flash or Blue and red flash

Performance 2 -4:
