Quick overview

The Gnu Free Spirit is one of Gnu's all-mountain freeride boards for women. The board has a short and wide design so you can easily and quickly make your turns during tree runs. The large setback and tapered shape give you plenty of float in the powder, while the aggressive C3 camber allows it to perform on-piste as well. The Free Spirit is without a doubt a good addition to your quiver if you are looking for a good all-mountain freeride board.

Details

PROFILE

  • C3Camber
    C3 is the most aggressive shape from the Mervin factory. Still a rocker between the feet but with a lot more emphasis on the camber under the bindings. This gives you a board that rides more aggressively, is more precise and has more pop and still manages to create some float.

CORE

  • G3 Eco Core
    The cream of the crop and the lightest Gnu core. The G3 Eco core consists of balsa, aspen and Paulownia wood. This combination is super durable, light and strong. The Tri-Ax/Bi-Ax fibreglass keeps the weight low and makes the board responsive and precise. All Gnu cores are Mervin Made, meaning they are environmentally friendly.

TOPSHEET

  • Eco Sublimated Bio Beans Top
    Super strong polyester topsheet made in the Mervin factory. The topsheet is made from eco-friendly Castor beans, which are ultra-light, scratch-resistant and water/snow repellent.

  • Tri-Ax/Bi-Ax
    A layer of Tri-Ax/Bi-Ax fibreglass is added to the Gnu boards. This triaxial/biaxial reinforcement ensures extra responsiveness and a more active snowboard in all types of terrain.

BASE

  • Sintered Knife Cut Base
    This is Gnu's sintered base. This base is fast, durable and absorbent. Like other sintered bases, the wax absorbs quickly and improves the glide.

SIDEWALL

  • UHMW Sidewall
    A fast and strong sidewall that can handle some heavy-duty work.

  • Magne-Traction
    Magne-traction is a wavy-edged snowboard. Just like a serrated knife that cuts through bread, Magne-Traction cuts through the snow. Gnu uses seven tactically placed waves in the steel edge, which results in a lot of grip in icy and tough conditions.
