Riding powder is like hiking into a backcountry camping trip. Once you’re past the trailhead, if you have the right gear there’s nothing better. If you have the wrong gear, there’s nothing worse. The Navigator is your fire starter; it is your compass that never fails. It is essential to the experience.
Featuring a Parabolic sidecut that carves hard and flows into a sinking tapered tail, the wide-frame rockered nose naturally floats above deep snow and transforms tiring powder days into emotionally fulfilling, epic level experiences.
PROFILE
Mono reverse camber allows your nose to float in deep powder, while zero camber retains power throughout the tail to stomp landings and slash the hell out of everything.
With capita’s flat kick design technology, we’ve tightened the tip profile radius that blends the shoulders of the board into the tip and tail height on reverse camber boards. The tight tip radius in conjunction with tuned blend zones allows you to have a forgiving and easy to ride reverse camber board that is still responsive and quick during edge-to-edge transitions. This also creates a flat tip and tail which increases jibbing stability and also helps the board plane on top of powder creating float and control.
CORE
We built the fsc® certified dual core to achieve the consistent, dependable feel required from riders looking to take their skills to the next level. This lightweight core has no irregularities or finger joints providing uniform flex for consistency. Featuring a lightweight and poppy poplar foundation, beech is placed through the inserts increasing power and durability. The fsc® certified dual core oers a consistent, comfortable, and powerful ride in a full wood core that has been certified sustainable by the forest stewardship council.
Developed over a three-year span, this all new resin system has a bio-content of 60% renewable, agricultural raw materials. It is plant based that does not compete with primary food sources and is produced with no waste or greenhouse emissions. In production, it has a low-temperature requirement with a high yield output. This resin system is poppy, powerful, and extremely durable. Magic bean™ resin yields much stronger and more rigid qualities allowing us to decrease the wood core thickness. Our focus is to save wood core weight by increasing resin performance. This means you get a lighter board while achieving higher energy return.
Known for its rigidity, high tensile strength, low weight, high temperature tolerance, and low thermal expansion, carbon fiber is one of the most popular materials used in today’s high performance applications. We press micro-sewn 20 mm beams into our snowboards, increasing power and response while the boards remain ultralight.
BASE
The superdrive™ base is another new construction component in the 2017 capita line. Targeted toward versatility in a high-end sintered base, this running material strikes a unique and sought after balance between high performance and low maintenance. With an increased density polyethylene, these ultra high molecular weight sintered bases are more wax absorbent and allow longer time periods between waxing sessions. Properly maintained sintered bases are fast, durable, and are the preferred choice of pro snowboarders worldwide.
TOPSHEET
The all new holysheet™ fiberglass configuration features new fiber weaves with a high tensile strength and low modulus of elasticity. With a higher roving count in the same weight of glass, you can have a stronger and more responsive board without adding extra weight. Triaxial fiberglass is placed on top of the core and biaxial fiberglass beneath, creating a perfectly blended ride while increasing strength and durability. Combine this layup with the magic bean™ resin and one of the many additives we have available, and you get a high performing board tailored to meet your style of riding.
The PLT™ machine sits in a secret hidden corner of the factory behind two very unassuming, nondescript metal doors. The PLT ™ is so secretive that with the exception of its inventor, Mr. Michi Kollmann, all visitors to the room must be versed in an ever-changing secret handshake. PLT™ technology is exclusive to CAPiTA MFG and magically bonds the topsheet to an already pressed snowboard. This is magical because the rest of the world mashes their topsheets on with glue, heat and pressure during the pressing stage. Doing so causes the fiberglass structure underneath to show through the topsheet. And because nobody wants to spend their hard earned cash on a bumpy snowboard, many companies slather their tops with a thick toxic lacquer to smooth things out. Not only is that shit HEAVY and can potentially develop unsightly hairline cracks, it’s also really unhealthy for the working environment. The PLT™ machine produces a featherlight, smooth, high-gloss finish, without all that poisonous deadweight.
SIDEWALL
A parabolic sidecut consists of a mirror-symmetrical curve. In snowboard terms, this design creates a board with a deeper sidecut and a quicker turning point in the center compared to radial arcs.
