Quick overview

When snowboarders in the ‘70s conjured up visions of the future of board design, they might have imagined something like the Burton Working Stiff. Where most freeride shapes achieve their floaty characteristics through width, taper and a setback stance, this experiment-turned-reality defies convention. A thick nose stiffens the front end, allowing it to skip across the snow, while Filet-O-Flex tech in the tail maintains the kind of agility you’d expect from a swallowtail. Hand shaped at Craig’s Proto Facility in Burlington, Vermont.

PROFILE

  • Directional Camber

Entry rocker causes the nose to lift while camber under both feet maintains momentum and stability through deepdriving turns and variable conditions.

  • Directional

The classic snowboard shape, designed to be ridden with a slightly longer nose than tail to concentrate pop in the tail while still giving you plenty of float, flow, and control to rip any terrain or condition.

  • 20mm Taper

A tapered shape means the nose is wider than the tail, promoting smooth turn entry and exit, stability at speed, and enhanced deep snow flotation. Look for different amounts of taper throughout the line.

  • Directional Flex

This flex features increased pop in the tail and a more resilient nose that allows riders to easily maintain control through all terrain and conditions.

CORE

  • FSC™ Certified Super Fly II™ 700G Core

Stronger and lighter woods target specific areas of the core to provide pop, strength, and reduced weight. Further optimized for float in Burton's freeride focused boards, and strength in their park-focused boards.

  • Dualzone™ EGD™

The wood grain is positioned along the toe and heel edges on two continuous zones, perpendicular to the rest of the wood core, for consistent edge-hold and added strength.

  • Triax™ Fiberglass

Versatile flex and response for everything from mini to mega shred.

BASE

  • Sintered WFO Base

Infusing a specially formulated wax deep into the pores of this extra-absorbent, high-density sintered material results in an ultra-durable base that stays Wide F!#@ing Open all season in any condition.

TOPSHEET

  • The Channel™

Stronger, faster, easier, and more adjustable. The Channel™ gives you ultimate control of your stance and your board in a design compatible with all major bindings (not just Burton’s). In fact, Burton trust it so much that all boards with The Channel are backed by a 3-year warranty.

  • Super Sap

Bio-based Super Sap® resin enhances performance and positive feelings.

  • Infinite Ride

This Burton-exclusive technology allows us to maximize pop and strength by overbuilding the board, then putting it in a machine that breaks in the board for you. Whether you choose to ride Springloaded, Rocker, or Camber, rest assured that with Infinite Ride™ your board will maintain its flex, pop, and feel from the first day forward, season after season.
