Quick overview

The Arbor Single. Arbor re-invisioned their look on how versatility could be brought into powder surfing, knowing that snow and water are very similar. Arbor wanted to create a shape with an excellent float and edge grip for the moments that we all will encounter every season. The Arbor Single is the result. As with single fin surfing, the Single keeps its track well and creates stability through its tapered profile and pin tail. The Thunderhead Tip with Fenders make this an awesome surfboard for powdersurfing even when you are looking for those untouched spot in the afterseason.

PROFILE

  • The Camber System
Arbor's System Camber shapes are for riders who want: A highly responsive ride, crisp on-edge performance, and more pop for carving and ollie., Effortless true-camber performance across all types of snow, and during turns, spins, and landings.

  • Parabolic Profiling
Arbor uses a unique shaping technique that replaces single radius arc found in traditional camber or rocker, with a more advanced parabolic profile. The design blends five separate radii together to create a parabolic arc, which gradually reduces the amount of rocker or camber toward the tip and tail. In Arbors System Rocker shapes, the design lowers the leading edge to improve edge hold. In the System Camber shapes, the design makes the leading edge less aggressive for smoother performance. The blended five radii design also drastically improves the ability to tune each shape in line for ability level, target terrain, and riding style.

  • Thunderhead
Arbor has a different nose profile for every type of terrain. The Thunderhead is suitable for big-mountain versatility & speed in the deepest snow.

  • Pow Fenders
The contact points at the tip are elevated by 3°, starting from the outer point of contact up to the nose. This ensures more float and smooth turns in the pow.

  • Taper
The widest point in the sidecut tapers in toward the tip earlier for less drag and hooking in powder. Swing weight is also reduced making the ski even more maneuverable in difficult snow.

  • Pow Tech
With PowTech, Arbor eliminated the front two GripTech contact points and moved the board’s primary interface with the snow under your back foot, allowing us to deliver powder specific performance driven by the power of your back leg.

CORE

  • FSC Certified Highland II Core
A newly developed screening process has allowed Arbor to hand select the very lightest and highest quality paulownia from their sourcing partners. The result is a lighter, more responsive version of the Highland Core known for highly reliable return and long-lasting durability.

REINFORCEMENTS

  • Mixed Glassing
A triax over biax lay–up that’s best for versatility: pow, backcountry, groomers, jumps, and more.

TOPSHEET

  • Powerply Topsheet
The Power Ply works like an added layer of fiberglass. During construction, the natural wood or bamboo fibers are turned into a composite layer inside the board, but the process takes time. They start with a log that must be soaked so that it can be sliced or “veneered” into sheets, which are then assembled into “faces”. The “faces” are then backed with a special fleece material, precision sanded, and pre laminated to a protective foil made in part from natural castor bean oil. The finished topsheet is at last ready to be built into a snowboard. In the end, the process makes Arbor Power Ply designs the most labor intensive snowboards on the market. The resulting performance, board life, finish quality, reduced reliance on man–made glues, coatings, and composites are worth the extra effort.

  • Entropy Bio Resin
All Powerplys and R.A.P. Topless Tech veneers are made with Entropy Bio-Resin, a replacement for traditional petroleum based resin that doesn’t affect performance or usability. The ingredients that go into Entropy Bio-Resin are sArbor’sced as co-products or waste products of other industrial processes and are manufactured employing green chemistry techniques that reduce the carbon footprint of the material by up to 40% (when compared to its petroleum based equivalent).

  • Bio-Plastic Topsheet
One of the materials Arbor use in their quest to eliminate harmful pertrolium based plastics from their production cycle. Made from Castor Bean Oil, this eco-topsheet is extremely durable and water repellent.

BASE

  • Sintered base
A higher molecular weight, sintered base that provides added durability and speed.

  • Wend Natural Wax
All boards are waxed and ready to use.

SIDEWALL

  • Pow Tech
With PowTech, Arbor eliminated the front two GripTech contact points and moved the board’s primary interface with the snow under your back foot, allowing us to deliver powder specific performance driven by the power of your back leg.

  • ABS (recycled) Sidewall
Provides enhanced durability while keeping the core safe from moisture. When a plastic alternative is unavailable, as in the case of ABS sidewalls, Arbor has choosen for a recycled material to improve the sustainability of their products.

EDGES

  • Griptech
Grip tech is a tri–radial sidecut design that is not “blended.” Natural shaping intersections, that in the past were eliminated, have been transformed into heel and toe contact points that provide a direct, more ergonomic way to grip the snow when additional control is needed. The extra contacts also form pivot zones that make turning easier and more natural. Grip tech effectively moves a board’s primary interface with the snow underfoot, allowing us to deliver designs that don’t lose performance as we lift leading sections of the effective edge from the snow for a less grabby ride. Those designs include rocker, or camber with our new uprise fenders. Uprise fenders pull the outside contact zones off the snow with angled 3º risers on all camber system designs.

  • Recycled Steel Edges
Highly durable, recycled steel edges embody two of Arbor's key values: quality and sustainability.

  • 360° Fully Wrapped Sidewalls
A 360–degree, fully wrapped sidewall that eliminates the need for tip fill, while effectively tying the whole snowboard together. A technology that delivers incredibly tight tolerances for improved board life and durability.

  • Factory Tuned
Detuning of the tip and tail contact points on all snowboards for a catch-free ride before they leave the factory.

MOUNTING

  • 2x4 Inserts
Provide a wide stance range, while at the same time delivering critical micro adjustability.
