Quick overview

Arbor has fully redesigned the Cosa Nostra with a smoother, cruiser inspired outline. With this new design, you’re getting the most directional System Rocker board in our line with a 2:1 nose to tail length ratio. When you combine this setback design with a small amount of taper and parabolic rocker profiling, the result is the surfiest, yet most versatile powder-leaning directional in the line. With the Cosa Nostra, you can expect a board rooted in old-school, surf-inspired riding, paried high-end board feel and quick edge-to-edge performance.

PROFILE

  • The Rocker System

The Rocker System design provides a surfy ride with natural float and cleaner tracking.

  • Parabolic profiling

The system utilizes rocker or camber profiles created using the parabolic arc, which progressively reduces the amount of rocker or camber toward the tip and tail of a snowboard. This creates low, more effective profiles. On our rocker system designs, parabolic profiling ensures the outside contact points are close enough to the snow to engage when maximum performance is required – higher speeds, fully loaded turns, and bigger landings. On camber system designs, this guarantees the outside contact points do not dig too far into the snow, creating a cleaner, less catchy performance that makes it easier to turn, spin, and ride fast.

  • Arrowhead Nose

Exceptional float for powder specific pursuits.

CORE

  • Double barrel I Core

Our most versatile core, made from poplar, reinforced with two bamboo struts running down the center of a board, for added longitudinal pop and easy turns. Every arbor snowboard is made with a full-length, sustainably sourced wood core. Each core is custom built and cnc shaped for a specific model and size. The extra effort helps guarantee the tolerance, flex, and finish quality of every arbor snowboard produced. New for 2019, all boards featuring a power ply topsheet also feature lighter, carefully selected poplar in their respective cores, resulting in a noticeable reduction in weight across a variety of models. These cores can be identified in each boards notable features with the “lt” designation after the core name.

BASE

  • Sintered base

A higher molecular weight, sintered base that provides added durability and speed.

TOPSHEET

  • El Dorado Power Ply

The Power Ply works like an added layer of fiberglass. During construction, the natural wood or bamboo fibers are turned into a composite layer inside the board, but the process takes time.

  • Mixed glassing

A triax over biax lay–up that’s best for versatility: pow, backcountry, groomers, jumps, and more.

  • R.A.P Topless Technology

A build process in which we eliminate the need for our Bio-Plastic Topsheet, creating a lighter, more eco-friendly ride.

  • Entropy Bio Resin

All Powerplys and R.A.P. Topless Tech veneers are made with Entropy Bio-Resin, a replacement for traditional petroleum based resin that doesn’t affect performance or usability. The ingredients that go into Entropy Bio-Resin are sourced as co-products or waste products of other industrial processes and are manufactured employing green chemistry techniques that reduce the carbon footprint of the material by up to 40% (when compared to its petroleum based equivalent).

SIDEWALL

  • 360 rails

A 360–degree, fully wrapped sidewall that eliminates the need for tip fill, while effectively tying the whole snowboard together. A technology that delivers incredibly tight tolerances for improved board life and durability.

  • Griptech

Grip tech is a tri–radial sidecut design that is not “blended.” Natural shaping intersections, that in the past were eliminated, have been transformed into heel and toe contact points that provide a direct, more ergonomic way to grip the snow when additional control is needed. The extra contacts also form pivot zones that make turning easier and more natural. Grip tech effectively moves a board’s primary interface with the snow underfoot, allowing us to deliver designs that don’t lose performance as we lift leading sections of the effective edge from the snow for a less grabby ride. Those designs include rocker, or camber with our new uprise fenders. Uprise fenders pull the outside contact zones off the snow with angled 3º risers on all camber system designs.

  • Recycled Steel Edges

Our highly durable, recycled steed edges embody two of our Arbor’s key values: quality and sustainability.
