Quick Overview

The Amplid Snommelier is a brash geometry-cuvée, combining Amplid’s young and flavourful Future Shapes DNA with the timelessness of a vintage swallowtail. With this brazen approach Peter Bauer, snowboarding’s original R&D vintner, has skilfully created a one-of-a-kind big-mountain gun for the connoisseur’s and collectors. A smooth and terrifyingly-fast big-line poacher, the Snommelier is magnetized to the fall-line and throws-up more spray than a Magnum of Dom Perignon on a rollercoaster.

Details

PROFILE

  • Directional cruise camber

A half-fat camber for all-mountain dominance. Cruise camber’s toned-down dimensions deliver a precise and lively feel much like pop camber, but with much improved deep snow performance and a more “broken-in” feel out of the shrink-wrap. In amplid’s directional snowboards and skis a touch of early rise is added to cruise camber to improve buoyancy even further.

CORE

  • Omni core

A dependable, low density poplar wood core which is lightweight, durable and has great flex memory. The industry standard for great performance.

  • Hexo2 lite technology

Featured only in amplid’s thick cut core, hexo2 lite places honeycomb in the tips, but not between the bindings. The weight saving from removing excess material reduces swing weight and heightens responsiveness.

  • Pop band carbon stringers

A narrow band of carbon stringers that run through the centreline of a ski or snowboard from tip-to tail. Pop band increases longitudinal stiffness and pop without altering torsional stiffness. Shreds with pop band feel livelier but remain forgiving.

  • Jekyll & hyde geometry

Max effective edge and square centimetres in a min board or ski length.unsinkable but nimble powder boards, sawn-off jib decks with huge pop and edge-hold and the ultimate allmountain ski recipe.

  • Floatation tips

Ultra wide, low rising tips that exist purely to create lift in powder without sucking-up speed. They add a surfy feel to skis and snowboards.

  • Thick cut

Introduced this year with the future shapes series, thick cut cores have a thicker profile in the tip and tail to reduce vibrations and increase stiffness where you need it. Reduced nose and tail deflection improves deep snow float, adds control and increases stability.

BASE

  • Sintered 7 base

A premium sintered plastic which readily absorbs wax and will out-run your riding buddies’ bases without breaking a sweat. You better get used to waiting.

TOPSHEET

  • Biaxial glass

Using biaxial glass in the construction of our shreds gives them a flawless blend of response and playfulness whilst keeping them ridiculously lightweight.

SIDEWALL

  • Bezièr Curves

We avoid radii where we can and use Beziér-curves when designing sidecuts and nose shapes. It allows us to calculate the exact flex curve of the core, which results in the most harmonious ride a ski or a board can provide.
