In short

The Mercury is the all-mountain board for riders who want power on demand and float in reserve. Resort V2 camber gives it a strong, versatile platform, while Death Grip adds confidence when the edge has to hold. CarbonFlax brings snap and composure without making the board feel overly stiff or fussy. It can carve, slash, jump, and charge in the same day without acting confused about its job. This is a daily driver with enough attitude to stay exciting.

In detail

PROFILE

  • Resort V2 Directional Profile
This revolutionary all-terrain shape provides the best of both worlds. It has a raised camber platform through the inserts to retain high-speed edge hold through variable terrain, elevated contact points to land and float in powder, and Flat Kick tip and tail arcs for faster, more aggressive transitions.
  • Flat Kick Tech
Flat tip and tail arcs raise the contact points for quicker, more aggressive transitions. Combined with camber underfoot, this gives the board edge hold, pop and stability while keeping turn initiation and landings more forgiving.

SHAPE

  • Directional Shape
A directional shape is designed to ride strongest in one direction, with geometry that supports drive, stability and float. The board feels more confident when charging, carving and pushing through variable snow, giving riders a powerful platform for freeride, all-mountain and powder-focused terrain.

CORE

  • Hover Core
Designed using high yield materials, the hover core is so light it essentially floats across the snow. Thin cut low density paulownia strips are combined with 7 mm poplar beams to create a unique ply configuration. The result is an energetic core that is extremely light and strong with excel-lent dampening properties.
  • CarbonFlax V-Tech Amplifiers
CarbonFlax V-Tech Amplifiers combine the snap and response of carbon with the natural damping properties of flax. This gives the board stronger ollie power, smoother control and a more stable feel through rough snow.
  • Holysheet Fiberglass
The all new holysheet fiberglass configuration features new fiber weaves with a high tensile strength and low modulus of elasticity. With a higher roving count in the same weight of glass, you can have a stronger and more responsive board without adding extra weight. Triaxial fiberglass is placed on top of the core and biaxial fiberglass beneath, creating a perfectly blended ride while increasing strength and durability. Combine this layup with the magic bean resin and one of the many additives we have available, and you get a high performing board tailored to meet your style of riding.
  • Magic Bean Resin
Magic Bean Resin bonds the board’s materials into a light, strong and responsive construction. It helps the fiberglass and core work together as one, giving the board a lively feel with dependable strength under pressure.

SIDECUT & EDGES

  • New Age Directional Sidecut
Capita's new age directional sidecuts are progressive sidecuts, which also incorporate a reverse sidecut arc in the midsection of the board. Due to a reduced effective edge as a result of hybrid camber shapes, this reverse camber arc provides a point of contact to retain control throughout the turn.
  • Progressive Sidecut
A progressive sidecut consists of two or more radii blended together to accommodate the three stages of a turn. They provide easy turn initiation while offering greater control throughout the turn and maximum power when exiting.
  • Death Grip
Death Grip is a design theory that incorporates a reverse sidecut arc in the midsection of the board. This reverse camber arc provides a point of contact to apply pressure and retain control throughout the turn in both freestyle and freeride settings.

BASE & TOPSHEET

  • Hyperdrive Base
Custom formulated and exclusive to the mothership, our engineers have worked tirelessly with the world's leading polyethylene running base supplier to create hyperdrive™ . With exceptional anti-friction properties due to high molecular mass and specialized processing aids, this sintered material has a custom carbon component and is beyond fast. Our loyal fans charge hard, and for 2021 and beyond we have integrated the fastest, meanest base available.

  • PLT Topsheet
PLT Topsheet Technology creates a clean, refined topsheet finish while keeping the construction efficient. It helps reduce unnecessary material, gives the graphic a sharp look and keeps the board feeling light, responsive and well finished.

Characteristics

  1. Directional Rocker-Camber-Rocker
    Profile

    Directional Rocker-Camber-Rocker

Directional Rocker-Camber-Rocker - The camber between the feet provides grip and power, while the longer rocker in the nose improves float and makes turn initiation easier. The shorter rocker in the tail makes the board easier to steer and creates a more playful, forgiving ride than Camber-Rocker-Camber. You will mainly find this profile in all-mountain and freeride boards.

  2. Directional Twin
    Shape

    Directional Twin

Directional Twin - A directional twin combines the familiar feel of a twin with features of a directional shape. The board is largely symmetrical between the contact points, while the nose may be longer, the flex may differ or the inserts may be positioned slightly towards the tail. On groomed runs, it rides much like a twin, while offering more stability and float off-piste. A versatile choice for all-mountain and freestyle riding.

  3. Sintered
    Base Speed

    Sintered

Sintered Base - A sintered base is compressed under high pressure and has a porous structure that absorbs plenty of wax. This makes the base faster and allows it to perform better in changing snow conditions. The material is harder and more wear-resistant than an extruded base, but it requires regular waxing and is more difficult to repair. A good choice for advanced riders who value speed and performance.
