The Nidecker Beta APX combines strength and flexibility through its natural shapes. Inspired by a dolphin's nose, a penguin's belly, and an eagle's tail, this board delivers exactly what you're looking for in an all-mountain surfy freeride board. Compared to the Alpha, this board is better suited for deep days. A wider nose and swallowtail add to this. Nidecker selected their most advanced materials to develop this board. The fastest and most durable base, an absorbent top sheet, 3D nose for those fluid turns wherever you are.

In detail

PROFILE

  • Surfy Camrock
    An extended rocker at the nose and regular camber through the rest of the board. Combined with the shorter tail used on boards with this profile, it allows you to glide over bumps or pow and initiate turns off the back foot for a unique, surf-like ride.

 

  • Evolution Nose
    3D curved nose, helps the board roll smoothly from edge to edge, creating a natural, surf-like flow through each turn.
  • Drop Out
    Inspired by the tail of a bird of prey. It generates more control when up on edge, but also allows for extra agility and deep, tight turns. 

CORE

  • Light Core
    An ultra light core featuring different wood types. The light core is a perfect combination of paulownia for lightness, poplar for pop and responsiveness, and hardwood beech stringers along the edges to increase core durability, pop and protection from edge impacts.

 

REINFORCEMENTS

  • Power Rails
    A construction inspired by surfboards. The topsheet is wrapped over a rounded wood core to meet a thin sidewall. It’s a beautiful finish that’s even more stunning to ride, delivering instant drive through the edge.
  • Pop Carbon Plus
    Strategic placement of carbon fiber from the tail to the rear inserts, and from the nose to the front inserts, results in a more reactive board, with increased pop and stiffness. It's vibration dampening qualities make it ideal for more aggressive riding in all conditions.

 

  • Triax Plus
    The result of extensive testing with the pro riders and engineers, Nidecker's triax laminate is oriented at to the board, and contains different glass densities. This provides consistent torsional flex, better pop, and more reactivity on every turn.

BASE

  • N-9000 Base
    Produced with carbon nanoparticles, the n-9000 has a very dense molecular structure, which makes it Nideckers fastest, most durable base material.

SIDEWALL & EDGES

  • R7
    This short 7+ meter radius, mixed with a stiffer flex is perfect for carving sharp arcing turns.

  • R8
    This medium 8+ meter radius is ideally suited for riders with a more relaxed style and versatile enough for everyday riding.
