In short

The Völkl Blaze 104 is designed for the adventurous freerider looking for versatility and manoeuvrability in a variety of snow conditions. With a 104 mm waist, this ski offers excellent float in deep powder while maintaining stability on harder snow. Its Hybrid multilayer woodcore combined with the carbon tips make the ski very manoeuvrable and controllable. The Blaze 104 is ideal for intermediate to advanced skiers who want to explore different terrains with confidence and ease.

In detail

Rocker Camber Small Rise
Skis with a rocker in the tip, camber in the middle and a small rise in the tail are very versatile. The ski is easy to turn, and the camber under the foot gives the ski grip on harder snow. The tail is slightly raised, but it is not like a full rocker. This makes for a balanced combination of easy turning and carving, without compromising on stability.

Hybrid Multilayer Woodcore
The extra-light hybrid multilayer wood core is a very complex core that is used in the Blaze. Light and very stable poplar and beech woods, individually weighed and selected by weight before gluing, are used in this wood core. In the tip-to-tail construction, the wood extends to the tip of the blade and end, giving them the sophisticated combination of good stability and low weight. In the center of the core, a CNC-milled Isocore area contributes to optimal liveliness and dynamic development. All in all, this design allows the stability of the ski to meet the high demands of a freeride ski, and this at a weight that is only slightly higher than that of a touring ski.

3D Glass
Three-dimensionally molded fiberglass layers are integrated into the tip and tail area of the ski. Compared to traditional glass constructions, this structure improves edge grip and enhances rebound through the turn. The layered design increases power transmission directly to the edge while maintaining stability in demanding snow conditions. The result is a ski that feels more precise, agile, and responsive, particularly on firmer or icy surfaces.

Sidewall Construction
A PU layer that seals the layered ski construction on the side and adds strength. Skis with a sidewall construction are generally more stable at speed, livelier and more durable.

Quadruple Radius
For maximum diversity in turns and skiing style, the ski is built in four different radi.

  • The Tip Radius (R1), provides a tighter radius in the tip for faster response to the ski's first edge movement.
  • The Front Radius (R2), gives the ski more resistance to failure and stability at speed.
  • The Centre Radius (R3), supports the ski for more manoeuvrability, even when the skier makes light edge movements. This provides the necessary build-up for short radical carving turns.
  • The Tail Radius (R4), aimed at optimal support at the end of the turn.
