In short

The Stranda Biru Women's! Biru means devil in Sámi language. And Yes, this is a little devil. As soon as you step on this board you feel the balance and it is as if you have been riding it for years. Floaty in powder with it’s long nose and small fish tail and begs to be ridden switch. Full camber for maximum pop and send with a tiny bit of early rise. Aggressive turned-up tail kick for switch landings without consequences. Stranda added three PowerBumps for handling those freeze-melt periods. Of course as usual it comes with a sintered race base. The core is a proven poplar, paulownia and ash Stranda mix. As it’s a volume-shifted shape with a 27 cm waist, riders should size down 4-5 centimeters. A one-board quiver for advanced snowboarder’s looking for a board that can take over the whole mountain. Take this little devil to the next level! 

In detail

PROFILE

  • Full Camber
    The center of the board has 9-13 mm of camber. Camber gives the board its edge hold and stability at high speed. No early rise, all control!

 

  • Powdernose
    A powdernose has a significant rocker in the nose. This gives the board float and a more playful character.

  • Radical Tail Kick
    A radical tail kick for safe switch landings.

  • Taper
    The nose is wider than the tail. This causes the board to sink at the back. This brings the nose up and that's exactly what you want in powder.

  • Setback
    Setback puts you further behind on your board. The weight transfer to the rear reduces fatigue in your back leg when riding powder. In addition, setback helps when carving to compensate for your forward turn initiation.

  • Volume Economy Tech
    The Diamond Tail combined with the big nose gives it the properties of a larger board. Suitable for playful powder riding but with plenty of performance when needed.

CORE

  • Ash/Poplar/Paulownia Core
    Stranda uses ash wood and a small amount of poplar in their cores. Ash wood is quite flexible and therefore dampens vibrations easily. In addition, the board retains its camber longer. Paulownia gives stiffness and keeps the weight of the core down.

REINFORCEMENTS

  • Triax Glass
    Fiberglass woven in three directions. This provides torsional stiffness and a better response.

  • Carbon Torsion Rods
    Carbon strips have been added in the core. This gives the board more torsional stiffness and pop.

TOPSHEET

  • TPU Matte Topsheet
    A polyurethane topsheet. A happy medium between hard plastic and silicone. Tough at low temperatures, high tensile strength and very flexible.

BASE

  • Sintered 4001 Durasurf Base
    A good and fast base that retains its properties for a long time.

SIDEWALL & EDGES

  • Triple Power Bumps
    In the middle and at the height of the inserts there are slight bulges in the edge. This gives you extra edge hold on hard pack. Ideal during those periods when the snow melts during day-time and freezes at night.

 

  • PU-Sidewalls
    PU sidewalls provide extra cushioning and absorb vibrations.

OTHERS

  • 4x2 Mounting
    Standard inserts. A multitude of options for mounting your binding. Not suitable for channel bindings.

  • 4 Year Warranty
    Stranda know their boards are well made. That's why they offer a 4-year warranty.
