Quick overview

The DPS Koala 118 is a powerhouse ski built for those who love to charge hard and play in deep powder. With a wide underfoot platform of 118mm, this ski excels in stability and maneuverability, making it ideal for high-speed descents and playful, floaty turns in fresh snow. Its hybrid carbon construction and hardwood core provide a robust, stable feel that can handle aggressive skiing. Built tough with durable materials, this ski can take on everything from crud to big airs, offering reliable performance in the most demanding conditions.

Details

Rocker Camber Rocker
The ski is easy to turn thanks to a rise in both the tip and the tail. Due to the camber under the foot, the waist of the ski provides grip on harder snow. Skis with this type of profile like to be skied from a more centred stance..

 DPS Koala construction

The Koala line-up features a durable construction made from high-quality materials, with a design unconstrained by weight considerations. Triaxial fiberglass wraps a bamboo and poplar core, while carbon stringers add stiffness. This combination provides a balanced feel of power and dampness, suitable for various skiers. Each model in the Foundation series incorporates DPS’s C2 and RP chassis, ensuring consistent design and performance across shapes and lengths.

Twin Tip Shape
The ski has a tip on both sides to help with backwards skiing and easy tail release.

Early Tapered Shape
The widest point of the taper is closer to the centre, which shortens the radius and makes the ski easier to steer.

Woodcore
The core consists of specifically selected wood types that are laminated in different compositions into a solid core. This gives the designers control over all the characteristics of the ski.

Carbon
Carbon is added as a reinforcement to the core. Carbon is light, strong and durable.

Glass Fiber
Delivers customized flex with increased torsional resistance and stability.

Sidewall Construction
A PU layer that seals the layered ski construction on the side and adds strength. Skis with a sidewall construction are generally more stable at speed, livelier and more durable.

Phantom applied

The DPS Phantom isn’t your typical ski wax—it’s a permanent, one-time base treatment that eliminates the need for waxing skis and snowboards entirely. Unlike traditional waxes, Phantom’s advanced polymer technology fully penetrates the base material, providing a consistent glide across all snow temperatures for the entire life of the ski or snowboard. Once applied, Phantom doesn’t require reapplication, even after a base grind, making it a highly convenient solution for all-season performance. Additionally, Phantom is a more environmentally responsible option. Traditional fluoro waxeselease toxic fumes during application and break down into harmful particles that pollute waterways as snow melts. In contrast, Phantom is inert, posing no risks to human health, animals, or the environment, ensuring a cleaner, safer mountain experience for everyone.
