Quick overview

Arbor Westmark Frank April. Hailing from the street snowboarding mecca of Quebec, Canada, Frank April is known as one of the most influential jibbers and biggest personalities in snowboarding. Frank’s style of riding massive street features demands the best jib board Arbor could design. The awards speak for themselves and include multiple TWS Good Wood Awards. Frank’s board features Nollie Boost Flip Tips for catch-free nollies and fakie ollies. Pair this plank up with the Frank April Edt. Hemlock Bindings for a combination tastier than poutine.

PROFILE

  • The Rocker System
Arbor's System Rocker shapes are for riders who want: A surfy ride with natural float, cleaner tracking across the snow, and more care-free turns and spins. Best in class true-rocker edge hold in the steeps, at higher speeds, and through any landing.

  • Parabolic Profiling
Arbor uses a unique shaping technique that replaces single radius arc found in traditional camber or rocker, with a more advanced parabolic profile. The design blends five separate radii together to create a parabolic arc, which gradually reduces the amount of rocker or camber toward the tip and tail. In Arbors System Rocker shapes, the design lowers the leading edge to improve edge hold. In the System Camber shapes, the design makes the leading edge less aggressive for smoother performance. The blended five radii design also drastically improves the ability to tune each shape in line for ability level, target terrain, and riding style.

  • Flathead
Arbor has a different nose profile for every type of terrain. The Flathead provides more surface area for butters, olies & nollies.

  • Fliptips
Increased ramping on the nose and tail of the snowboard create the perfect platform for catch free nollies and fakie ollies.

CORE

  • FSC Certified Highland II Core
A newly developed screening process has allowed Arbor to hand select the very lightest and highest quality paulownia from their sourcing partners. The result is a lighter, more responsive version of the Highland Core known for highly reliable return and long-lasting durability.

REINFORCEMENTS

  • Biax Glassing
A biax over biax lay–up that’s designed for park and street inspired all-mountain riding. Also creates a good platform for learning.

TOPSHEET

  • Bio-Plastic Topsheet
One of the materials Arbor use in their quest to eliminate harmful pertrolium based plastics from their production cycle. Made from Castor Bean Oil, this eco-topsheet is extremely durable and water repellent.

BASE

  • Sintered base
A higher molecular weight, sintered base that provides added durability and speed.

  • Wend Natural Wax
All boards are waxed and ready to use.

  • Flip tips
Increased ramping on the nose and tail of the snowboard creates the perfect platform for catch-free nollies and fakie ollies.

SIDEWALL

  • ABS (recycled) Sidewall
Provides enhanced durability while keeping the core safe from moisture. When a plastic alternative is unavailable, as in the case of ABS sidewalls, Arbor has choosen for a recycled material to improve the sustainability of their products.

EDGES

  • Griptech
Grip tech is a tri–radial sidecut design that is not “blended.” Natural shaping intersections, that in the past were eliminated, have been transformed into heel and toe contact points that provide a direct, more ergonomic way to grip the snow when additional control is needed. The extra contacts also form pivot zones that make turning easier and more natural. Grip tech effectively moves a board’s primary interface with the snow underfoot, allowing us to deliver designs that don’t lose performance as we lift leading sections of the effective edge from the snow for a less grabby ride. Those designs include rocker, or camber with our new uprise fenders. Uprise fenders pull the outside contact zones off the snow with angled 3º risers on all camber system designs.

  • Recycled Steel Edges
Highly durable, recycled steel edges embody two of Arbor's key values: quality and sustainability.

  • 360° Fully Wrapped Sidewalls
A 360–degree, fully wrapped sidewall that eliminates the need for tip fill, while effectively tying the whole snowboard together. A technology that delivers incredibly tight tolerances for improved board life and durability.

  • Factory Tuned
Detuning of the tip and tail contact points on all snowboards for a catch-free ride before they leave the factory.

MOUNTING

  • 2x4 Inserts
Provide a wide stance range, while at the same time delivering critical micro adjustability.
