In short

Say hi to the Stranda Makrill, a Japan inspired floaty, fast turning little powder ripper. This is a board you will ride in the trees during a big storm or on any day when in Hokkaido. It will also look awesome on any wall between the powder swells with it’s hi-gloss bamboo topsheet and matching green PU sidewalls. To celebrate the Japanese heritage Stranda used bamboo stringers instead of ash to beef up it’s pure poplar core. The Makrill is pressed on a tried and proven rocker/camber/rocker profile. There’s a sweet little camber section and added Power Bumps to keep you on edge if you by any chance would hit hard pack. Volume shifted, size down 6-8 cm.

In detail

PROFILE

  • Low Camber
    The centre of the board is raised 6mm. Camber gives the board it's edge-hold and stability at high speed.

  • Tip and Tail Rocker
    The tip has a bit more rocker than the tail. Both lie within the widest points of the board. This makes the board easy to turn and an easy change of edge.

  • Swallowtail
    Due to the swallowtail, the tail has less surface area. This sinks the tail and lift the nose. This is exactly what you want in powder.

  • Setback
    Setback puts you further behind on your board. The weight transfer to the rear reduces fatigue in your back leg when riding powder. In addition, setback helps when carving to compensate for your forward turn initiation.

CORE

  • Poplar Bamboo Core
    This core consists mainly of poplar wood. As a little nod to Japanese board building, Stranda added bamboo stringers.

REINFORCEMENTS

  • Triax Glass
    Fiberglass woven in three directions. This provides torsional stiffness and a better response.

  • Carbon Torsion Rods
    Carbon strips have been added in the core. This gives the board more torsional stiffness and pop.

TOPSHEET

  • Bamboo Topsheet
    Bamboo is very flexible and can withstand stress well. In addition to the beautiful appearance, the topsheet helps absorb vibrations and gives the board some extra pop.

BASE

  • Sintered 4001 Durasurf Base
    A good and fast base that retains its properties for a long time.

OTHERS

  • 4x2 Mounting
    Standard inserts. A multitude of options for mounting your binding. Not suitable for channel bindings.

  • 4 Year Warranty
    Stranda know their boards are well made. That's why they offer a 4-year warranty.
