Climbing skins are essential for ascending slopes. Without climbing skins you will not be able to make it up a slope. The hairs of the skin glide with forward movement and grip with backward pressure.

The Jones Ultralight Stratos Split is a dynamic and versatile splitboard built for extending your range and pushing your riding potential in all-conditions. Built with the body of a directional freeride board and the spirit of a freestyle board, it has an energetic board feel thanks to a narrow sidecut and a camber heavy directional rocker profile. For added float and quick edge-to-edge response, it features 10 mm of taper and a 3D Contour Base 3.0. The Ultralight Stratos is built with our ultralight Fusion Carbon construction including a wood core made with two sections of Koroyd that absorb chatter at a fraction of the weight of wood. For added edge grip and unmatched torsional board lock, it’s built with Inner/Outer Traction Tech 3.0, the Boltless Bridge, Karakoram Tip Lock Tip Clips and Karakoram 3C Clips that clamp together with a three point tension system. New for 23/24, the Ultralight Stratos Split is built with an eco-topsheet.
In detail
Snowcountry Second Choice Snowboards
We sell second choice snowboards in 3 categories. All snowboards are sold with their regular product warranty. For any questions regarding a specific second chance product, please contact our customer service.
B-Grade B-Grade snowboards can contain cosmetic defects and small production discrepancies. All of these defects are cosmetical and the snowboards are new and technically 100%.
C-Grade C-Grade snowboards have transport damage, scratches on base or top sheet, or other small defects. These snowboards are new but might need some attention.
Demo Demo snowboards are used by our team for testing purposes. They are in a good state and well serviced.
PROFILE
Directional Rocker A hybrid rocker/camber flex pattern defined by more tip rocker then tail rocker and camber between the bindings. The rockered tip floats the board’s nose and improves maneuverability while the camber underfoot provides edge hold and response. A slightly rockered tail maintains the power and stability of a traditional board but helps keep the tail catch-free initiating turns and landing switch.
3D Contour Base 3.0 Freeride nose with 7mm spoon and 0 to 7mm spoon in the tail. The spoon starts where the rocker starts. This ensures a better glide, smooth edge change and float.
Blunt Nose Wider capped nose. As a result, you plow less through the snow and it looks like you have a longer nose. You also get a lower swing rate.
Progressive Sidecut By increasing the sidecut radius towards the contact points, the board gets a smooth entry and exit phase during your turns.
CORE
FSC Fusion Core Jones's lightest wood core to date. Made primarily of Paulownia with specially placed Poplar pockets for durability and response.
Fusion Carbon Made by mixing wood and carbon with as little epoxy as possible. This provides an even lighter core than the Fusion Tech. Provides the most cushioned, durable and responsive boards in the Jones collection.
Koroyd Core Koroyd is one of the newest developments within Jones. 95% air and 75% lighter than a standard wood core. Koroyd absorbs vibrations in the board and due to the low swing weight the board reacts quickly. Resulting in confidence at speed and in any terrain.
REINFORCEMENTS
Ultra Construction Ultra Construction is the redefinition of what it takes to build a snowboard. Jones has tested every inch of the board to precisely position materials exactly where they are needed while eliminating all excess materials. Combining these innovative construction techniques with superlight wood cores and carbon fiber deliver revolutionary results. Jones ultra boards are the lightest, yet most durable snowboards on earth.
Fiberglass Reinforcement Fiberglass layer improve pop in nose and tail plus increases the longevity of the flex profile. This lightweight layer helps the board perform the same on day 100 as it did on day one - precise and playful.
TOPSHEET
Ultralight Eco-Plastic Topsheet Super damp, durable and lightweight topsheet material made from organic plant material.
BASE
Ultra Base World class racing base made of Ultra-High Modular Weight Polyethylene (UHMW-PE) optimized with special Fluorine and Paraffin. 25% more wax absorption, better glide in all conditions and better wear resistance. The Ultra base is harder and faster than any other Jones base.
Wend Natural Wax Jones boards are ready to shred straight out of the shop and are factory waxed with WEND natural wax.
SIDEWALL & EDGES
Oversized Recycled Edges All Jones boards are made with oversized recycled steel edges for added durability and improved production sustainability.
Recycled ABS Jones recycles as much of the base materials as possible to minimize the impact on the environment. So the base of the board above can be 'inverted' (flipped). By always reversing the colors of the base, as little base material as possible is wasted. We cannot therefore promise you a base variant as we also receive them differently.
Factory Tuned All Jones snowboards are factory de-tuned at the tip and tail so you can go right from the shop to the mountain.
Traction Tech Traction Tech is the Jones equivalent of the better known Magne-Traction. Traction-Tech is a slight wave in the steel side. This gives more grip, because it cuts deeper and sharper in snow or ice. Traction-Tech comes in 3 variants from Jones: 1.0, 2.0, 3.0. The number stands for the number of undulations per steel edge. More undulations means more grip, but also a more aggressive character of the board.
OTHERS
Super Sap Bio Resin All Jones boards are now built with bio-based, renewable epoxy instead of petroleum based epoxy. The raw materials used to make Super Sap Bio-Resin are coproducts or waste products of other plant based industrial processes. Producing Super Sap requires 33% less greenhouse gas emissions than conventional epoxy.
Forever Flex Forever Flex is a new manufacturing process that helps stabilise the flex and rocker of a board for its lifetime.
SPLITBOARD TECH
Quick Tension Tail The Quick Tension Tail Clip is a lightweight tail clip system designed to fit all 2016 and newer Jones splitboards. Jones splitboards have a notch cut into the tail of both skis that allows the Quick Tension Tail Clip to simply slide into the notch and secure the skin.
Jones Bolt-less Bridge The Bolt-less Bridge eliminates split clip attachment hardware from the base of the board by re-profiling the wood core at the clips. The wood core under the clips is thicker providing better torsional stifness and a more powerful connection at the split clips.
Karakoram Ultra Clips 3C Three point tention system. Clamps perpendicular, parallel an vertically to seam for the tightest connection possible. 36g lighter then it's predecessor.
Karakoram Tip-Lock Tip Clips Every splitboarder knows the feeling – you drop into a firm line and your tip clip pops open! Never again. Using Active Joining Technology, the Karakoram Tip-Lock Tip Clips quickly lock and clamp the tips of your splitboard with the flick of the lever.
