Climbing skins are essential for ascending slopes. Without climbing skins you will not be able to make it up a slope. The hairs of the skin glide with forward movement and grip with backward pressure.

The Frontier Split is the ultimate splitboard for playful riders looking for a directional freeride shape without a stiff flex. The Frontier features a floaty, freeride nose for pow crushing and crud busting matched with a freestyle tail that’s perfect for popping pillows and stomping cliff drops. On icy skin tracks or firm descents, the Directional Rocker profile and Inner/Outer Traction Tech 2.0 edges provide confident stability and edge grip. The Frontier Split offers high performance without skimping on materials as it’s built with a Sintered 8000 base, an Eco-plastic topsheet and the FSC Classic Core that is specially profiled for added pop.
In detail
PROFILE
Directional camber-rocker A hybrid camber/rocker flex pattern defined by more tip rocker than tail rocker and camber between the bindings. The rockered tip floats the board’s nose and improves maneuverability, while the camber underfoot provides edge hold and response. A slightly rockered tail maintains the power and stability of a traditional board but helps to keep the tail catch-free, initiate turns, and land switch.
Blunt Nose Wider capped nose. As a result, you plow less through the snow and it looks like you have a longer nose. You also get a lower swing rate.
Progressive Sidecut By increasing the sidecut radius towards the contact points, the board gets a smooth entry and exit phase during your turns.
CORE
FSC Classic Core Full wood poplar core that ofers fun pop, even flex and solid durability.
REINFORCEMENTS
Biax Fiberglass 2-dimensional fiberglass layer therefore less stiff, which ensures a comfortable and playful character.
BASE
Sintered 8000 Base Super strong, durable and fast base which is relatively easy to repair due to the combination of Polyethylene and Carbon UHMW-PE. Slightly less wax absorption compared to the 9900 version.
Wend Natural Wax Jones boards are ready to shred straight out of the shop and are factory waxed with WEND natural wax.
TOPSHEET
Eco-Plastic Topsheet Made from Castor beans. Also called wonder beans. This Eco-friendly material is ultra-light, more scratch-resistant and water and snow resistant.
SIDEWALL & EDGES
Stainless Steel Reinforcements Stainless steel plates are embedded into the nose and tail for improved board tip durability.
Oversized Recycled Edges All Jones boards are made with oversized recycled steel edges for added durability and improved production sustainability.
Recycled ABS Jones recycles as much of the base materials as possible to minimize the impact on the environment. So the base of the board above can be 'inverted' (flipped). By always reversing the colors of the base, as little base material as possible is wasted. We cannot therefore promise you a base variant as we also receive them differently.
Inner Traction Tech Traction Tech for splitboards. The steel edges on the inside also have traction tech. This results in more grip during splitting.
Factory Tuned All Jones snowboards are factory de-tuned at the tip and tail so you can go right from the shop to the mountain.
OTHERS
Forever Flex Forever Flex is a new manufacturing process that helps stabilise the flex and rocker of a board for its lifetime.
Super Sap Bio Resin All Jones boards are now built with bio-based, renewable epoxy instead of petroleum based epoxy. The raw materials used to make Super Sap Bio-Resin are coproducts or waste products of other plant based industrial processes. Producing Super Sap requires 33% less greenhouse gas emissions than conventional epoxy.
SPLITBOARD TECH
Quick Tension Tail The Quick Tension Tail Clip is a lightweight tail clip system designed to fit all 2016 and newer Jones splitboards. Jones splitboards have a notch cut into the tail of both skis that allows the Quick Tension Tail Clip to simply slide into the notch and secure the skin.
Karakoram Tip-Lock Tip Clips Every splitboarder knows the feeling – you drop into a firm line and your tip clip pops open! Never again. Using Active Joining Technology, the Karakoram Tip-Lock Tip Clips quickly lock and clamp the tips of your splitboard with the flick of the lever.
Karakoram Ultraclip 2.0 Karakoram Ultraclips got lighter and tighten the boardhalves to eachother. The 2.0 version makes it easy to bring tension back on the board halves.
Jones Bolt-less Bridge The Bolt-less Bridge eliminates split clip attachment hardware from the base of the board by re-profiling the wood core at the clips. The wood core under the clips is thicker providing better torsional stifness and a more powerful connection at the split clips.
