No bindings, no worries. The Backseat Driver is Burton's most awesome snowsurfer. An ode to Jake Burton's first-generation boards. The Backseat Driver unites surf, top snowboard construction and freedom. The spoon nose gives this board amazing float in the powder, while the large grip pad gives you enough room to naturally distribute your balance.

PROFILE

  • Directional Flat Top
    A flat profile overall with a rockered nose. Flat provides the steady stability and while the rockered provides effortless float demanded by deep days and surfy terrain.

  • Taper
    The widest point in the sidecut tapers in toward the tip earlier for less drag and hooking in powder. Swing weight is also reduced making the ski even more maneuverable in difficult snow.

CORE

  • Superfly 800G - Dualzone EGD Core
    Engineered Grain Direction (EGD™). Burton-specific engineered wood grains. The wood grain is positioned along the toe and heel edges on two continuous zones perpendicular to the rest of the wood core, for consistent edge-hold and added strength. More edge-hold, response, and strength.

REINFORCEMENTS

  • Triax Fiberglass
    Versatile flex and response for everything from mini to mega shred. Bottom Glass = 0° + -45°/+45°. Top Glass = 0° + -45°/+45°.

  • Super Sap Resin
    A resin formulated with bio-based materials that reduces the carbon footprint by 50% over conventional all-petroleum-based epoxies. Less oil consumption means even less of a carbon footprint per board, which is good in our book.

BASE

  • Extruded Base
    Easy to repair which mean less maintenance. It also doesn’t need to be waxed as often since it doesn’t absorb and release as much wax when ridden.
