The Bergans Of Norway Y MountainLine 40 Daypack is the only backpack you need for almost all mountain adventures, regardless of the season, equipped with the new avalanche safety system Safeback SBX (not included). The light, robust and versatile bag has a modular design, with many removable elements so you can adapt the pack to the amount you want to carry. Don't need the hip belt and frame sheet? Remove the modular parts and you are left with a lightweight backpack of 666 grams! In addition to the weight-saving waterproof fabric, the Bergans Y MountainLine 40 Daypack is compatible with the Safeback SBX Avalanche Survival System.

Safeback SBX is integrated into a removable top cover, which means it can be quickly attached to the backpack when you enter the avalanche area. This technology allows avalanche victims to breathe under the snow, increasing their chance of survival by up to 90 minutes!

Safeback SBX is an Avalanche Survival System designed to allow avalanche victims to breathe under the snow, extending their potential survival window while buried from 15 to a minimum of 90 minutes!

When activated by the T-shape handle, SBX creates an airflow through the snow, providing fresh air to the breathing area. This ensures access to oxygen and pushes away excess CO2. Avalanche snow contains a large amount of air, which SBX uses to supply oxygen to the victim through the hoses on the shoulder straps and prevent suffocation, regardless of whether they have an air pocket or not. Today, the time for avalanche rescues is 15 minutes to prevent deaths from asphyxiation (75% of avalanche deaths). On a full charge, the SBX can provide continuous air for 90 minutes at -30°C / -22°F. The running time increases at higher temperatures:
