Quick overview

Rome's shaped and powered the new Ravine for a life of exploring mountain terrain, whether it is at your favorite resort or deeper in the backcountry. With a feel driven by Rome's triple-zone Free-The-Ride camber, the Ravine is crafted for fully-powered groomer runs, high-walled gullies, and those bottomless secret spots. For those days when Alek Oestreng wants to shred powder, he grabs the Ravine for a floaty board that he can also spin and pillage transition on. Its freestyle-oriented flex and all-mountain mentality make for a perfect board. The 3D tip in combination with 6-10mm taper gives the Ravine effortless float in all conditions.

Details

PROFILE

  • Free The Ride
Camber underfoot with early-rise rocker in the nose. Early rocker causes the nose to lift in powder while camber under both feet maintains momentum and stability through deep-driving turns and variable conditions. Two HotRods in the board’s tail for medium to powerful responsiveness.

  • Directional Diamond 3D
Designed to increase float in deep snow, improve handling in variable terrain, smooth turn initiation, reduce edge-catch and complement all-mountain riding in all senses. The 3D Diamond is available in Directional and Twin Configurations.

  • Taper
The widest point in the sidecut tapers in toward the tip earlier for less drag and hooking in powder. Swing weight is also reduced making the board even more maneuverable in difficult snow.

CORE

  • Popcore
Rome's most versatile and durable core, built with alternating strips of 20mm strips of poplar and 20mm strips of paulownia.

TOPSHEET

  • Carbon Hotrods
Thin rods of carbon that are milled into the boards core starting at the insert pack and extending into the nose and/or tail. Carbon HotRods are super responsive and powerfully snappy.

  • Directional Double
Two HotRods in the board’s tail for medium to powerful responsiveness.

  • Triax Glass
Fiberglass running in three different axes, built for torsional rigidity and added snap.

  • Biax Glass
Fiberglass with two different axes, built to be torsionally more playful and pressable.

BASE

  • Sinterstrong Base
The new go-to, this hardworking base is easy to fix with great wax retention. A low maintenance daily driver for riders of all ability levels.

MOUNTING

  • 2x4
Provide a wide stance range, while at the same time delivering critical micro adjustability. Not suitable for Burton EST and 3D bindings.
