Quick overview

The Jones Project X is now even lighter than before. With Koroyd in the nose they managed to save some weight again. The shape is the same as the Stratos, but build with the best materials Jones has available. Fusion Carbon, Fusion Core, Ultra Construction just to name a few. One of the lightest, fastest boards in the Jones collection. A freestyle all-mountain board with an ultra-light board feel for those days when no one can hold you back.

Details

PROFILE

  • Directional Rocker
A hybrid rocker/camber flex pattern defined by more tip rocker then tail rocker and camber between the bindings. The rockered tip floats the board’s nose and improves maneuverability while the camber underfoot provides edge hold and response. A slightly rockered tail maintains the power and stability of a traditional board but helps keep the tail catch-free initiating turns and landing switch.

  • 3D Contour Base 3.0
Freeride nose with 7mm spoon and 0 to 7mm spoon in the tail. The spoon starts where the rocker starts. This ensures a better glide, smooth edge change and float.

  • Blunt Nose
Wider capped nose. As a result, you plow less through the snow and it looks like you have a longer nose. You also get a lower swing rate.

  • Progressive Sidecut
By increasing the sidecut radius towards the contact points, the board gets a smooth entry and exit phase during your turns.

CORE

  • FSC Fusion Core
Jones's lightest wood core to date. Made primarily of Paulownia with specially placed Poplar pockets for durability and response.

  • Koroyd Core
Koroyd is one of the newest developments within Jones. 95% air and 75% lighter than a standard wood core. Koroyd absorbs vibrations in the board and due to the low swing weight the board reacts quickly. Resulting in confidence at speed and in any terrain.

  • Ultra Construction
Ultra Construction is the redefinition of what it takes to build a snowboard. Jones has tested every inch of the board to precisely position materials exactly where they are needed while eliminating all excess materials. Combining these innovative construction techniques with superlight wood cores and carbon fiber deliver revolutionary results. Jones ultra boards are the lightest, yet most durable snowboards on earth.

REINFORCEMENTS

  • Fusion Carbon
Made by mixing wood and carbon with as little epoxy as possible. This provides an even lighter core than the Fusion Tech. Provides the most cushioned, durable and responsive boards in the Jones collection.

  • Carbon Stringers
Carbon stringers add torsional stifness for improved response and increased pop. Carbon layer keeps flex profile dimensionally stable for a consistent ride for the lifetime of the board.

  • Fiberglass Reinforcement
Fiberglass layer improve pop in nose and tail plus increases the longevity of the flex profile. This lightweight layer helps the board perform the same on day 100 as it did on day one - precise and playful.

BASE

  • Ultra Base
World class racing base made of Ultra-High Modular Weight Polyethylene (UHMW-PE) optimized with special Fluorine and Paraffin. 25% more wax absorption, better glide in all conditions and better wear resistance. The Ultra base is harder and faster than any other Jones base.

  • Wend Natural Wax
Jones boards are ready to shred straight out of the shop and are factory waxed with WEND natural wax.

  • Factory Tuned
All Jones snowboards are factory de-tuned at the tip and tail so you can go right from the shop to the mountain.

TOPSHEET

  • Eco-Plastic Topsheet
Made from Castor beans. Also called wonder beans. This Eco-friendly material is ultra-light, more scratch-resistant and water and snow resistant.

SIDEWALL & EDGES

  • Thin Recycled Edges
Advancements in ski edge durability allow us to use thinner edges on splitboard inside edges (and Project X outside edges) to save weight. Outside edges are 2mm, inside edges are 1.5mm.

  • Recycled ABS
Jones recycles as much of the base materials as possible to minimize the impact on the environment. So the base of the board above can be 'inverted' (flipped). By always reversing the colors of the base, as little base material as possible is wasted. We cannot therefore promise you a base variant as we also receive them differently.

  • Traction Tech
Traction Tech is the Jones equivalent of the better known Magne-Traction. Traction-Tech is a slight wave in the steel side. This gives more grip, because it cuts deeper and sharper in snow or ice. Traction-Tech comes in 3 variants from Jones: 1.0, 2.0, 3.0. The number stands for the number of undulations per steel edge. More undulations means more grip, but also a more aggressive character of the board.

OTHERS

  • Forever Flex
Forever Flex is a new manufacturing process that helps stabilise the flex and rocker of a board for its lifetime.

  • Super Sap Bio Resin
All Jones boards are now built with bio-based, renewable epoxy instead of petroleum based epoxy. The raw materials used to make Super Sap Bio-Resin are coproducts or waste products of other plant based industrial processes. Producing Super Sap requires 33% less greenhouse gas emissions than conventional epoxy.

  • Float Pack Inserts
An extra set of float inserts with heavy setback for the extreme powder days.
